Did you wanna be famous?

This weeks monday music post is basically this:

KEANE ARE BACK!!!!

What more do I need to say? ah, check out the next single – Spiralling

Monday music is back! (in it’s ever sporadic form)

I was wondering why I never seem to keep to a routine, and my Monday Music posts are a grand example of this behaviour! Maybe it’s because I don’t have time.. most probably, but then I’ve always believed that is a lame excuse, because if something is important to you, that means you make time to do it doesn’t it?  So saying I don’t have enough time is basically saying “It’s not important enough to me to fit it in”! Maybe?

So when it comes to Monday Music posts, they are too far down the list of important things to do that they far to often get left out.. therefore I have decided to only do a Monday Music post when something seems relevant or interesting (to me anyway), but if it’s music related – I’ll post it on a Monday ;-)

The reason I have found time to post this today? I’m sat at work waiting for someone to finish on a server that I have them remotely connected to!

Anyway, the real reason for this post is that rarely do I listen to a song and think all the lyrics are fantastic but the more I listen to Keane – Atlantic, the more I love the lyrics:

I hope all my days
Will be lit by your face
I hope all the years
Will hold tight our promises

I don’t wanna be old and sleep alone
An empty house is not a home
I don’t wanna be old and feel afraid

I don’t wanna be old and sleep alone
An empty house is not a home
I don’t wanna be old and feel afraid

And if I need anything at all

I need a place
That’s hidden in the deep
Where lonely angels sing you to your sleep
Though all the world is broken

I need a place
Where I can make my bed
A lover’s lap where I can lay my head
Cos now the room is spinning
The day’s beginning

Coldplay on the BBC – 18th June 2008

Coldplay on the BBCWahey, last night I went to see Coldplay on the BBC! It was one of the most amazing concerts I have been to. As anyone who knows me will be aware, Coldplay are my favourite band and I have only seen them once (at Crystal Palace on 28th June 2006) and when we managed to get Guaranteed tickets for the small gig at the BBC I could not believe how lucky we were to get them.

As always I took plenty of pictures which can be found here: on my flickr photostream

The gig was fairly short (45 mins) but Coldplay exceeded my expectations, I have had the album on pretty much constantly since it was released and I was really looking forward to hearing some of the new material. My favourite song from the set has to be “Lost”, I loved this track on the CD, but to hear it live is something else.

The entire atmosphere was friendly but lively, with such a small audience it really felt personal and with people watching from outside (and from the building site) it made it something really special.

Chris Martin is quite an entertainer and his dancing always makes me smile, my favourite quote from Chris at this concert was “Hey, I can’t dance but at least I’m enthusiastic”*. I love dancing (I’m not necessarily a good dancer) but I think this proves – what does it matter??

I’m still excited about the concert and can’t wait to see them next time.. until then Viva La Vida!

*that quote is as I remember it, so I appologise if it is not the exact wording ;)

Monday Music – Coldplay style!

Well, who released an album last week? Only my favourite band COLDPLAY! In honour of this I have decided to start up my rather sporadic “Monday” Music posts… I have been listening to Viva La Vida pretty much constantly since I purchased it on Thursday 12th June and here are some of my favourite lyrics from two of my favourite songs (at the moment):

You might be a big fish
In a little pond
Doesn’t mean you’ve won
‘Cause along may come
A bigger one
And you’ll be lost

~ Lost

They were sitting
They were sitting in the strawberry swing
Every moment was so precious

~ Strawberry Swing

Photoshop CS3 tool location reference

If like me you find yourself looking through the menus in Photoshop to find the tool you are looking for, then you may find this “tool location reference” handy.. I put this together the other day when I was trying to remember where the Gradient tool was! It’s screensaver size, so I have made it my desktop!

The “I thought it was Monday today” Monday music post!

It’s a short and sweet Monday music post this week, some Keane lyrics:

“An empty house is not a home”

~ Keane
~ Atlantic

Monday Music

In honour of Coldplay’s forthcoming album, here is the hidden track from Parachutes, Life is for living for this weeks Monday Music post:

Monday Music – Triple Rollover Tuesday!

It’s been 3 Monday’s in a row that I have neglected my Monday Music post, so here is a triple roller! 3 songs in one post:

One from JB: (Same Mistake, James Blunt)

I’m not calling for a second chance
I’m screaming at the top of my voice

…….

And maybe someday we will meet
And maybe talk and not just speak

One of the best theme tunes from the 80′s (IMOH): (Out of this world theme tune!)

Just for fun: (Galway Girl Sharon Shannon & Steve Earle)

Great new advert…
